An Introduction to International Business Communication ( IBC)

We set up in 2003 offering NVQs to Y10 – Y11 pupils because we saw a real need for a more practical, vocation led way of learning and using modern foreign languages. The NVQ is a viable alternative to GCSE at level 2 and a pathway to level 3 for students who wish to keep up their languages.

We’ve won awards and have now grown, offering teachers and schools across the UK a chance to motivate their students by offering NVQs in business language in:-

French · Spanish · German · Italian · Business English · Mandarin Chinese (speaking unit)

The project is run by Sheffield City Council’s 14 – 19 Team and has developed NVQ language resources for Level 1, 2 and 3. Hundreds of schools across the country have embedded NVQ languages with the help of IBC in their curriculum and many thousands of language units have been processed since 2004.
